Peppermint Bay

Peppermint Bay is a lovely spot on the Huon Trail. The Huon Trail is a fantasticly scenic drive the heads south west from Hobart. You can take in all sorts of beautiful spots like the Shot Tower, Snug Falls, anywhere along the river, and Peppermint Bay. The drive can take you all day if you wish, or a half day if you dont have time. Either way, it is well worth the effort.

Currently, there are no tours that take in this scenic drive, so a hire car is a necessity. There are a couple of tours which go to Geeveston which is on the other side of the river - but still beautiful.

The photos are of the Pub/Bar/Cafe/Restaurant at Peppermint Bay. They run an annual exhibition of living artists, and some of the photos are of the peices.

Do the drive very early in the morning to catch the river looking like a mirror. It makes for great photos, and you might catch some mist cascading down from the hills. You can do an all day drive down to Peppermint Bay, then back towards Hobart, and down to the Airwalk. What a day!
